Malacañang Proclamation 247 released in 2002 declared September as Development Policy Research Month (DPRM) to underscore the role of policy research in shaping development and effective policymaking. It also designated the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) as the coordinator and convenor of the yearly celebration.

This year's 21st DPRM takes on the theme, “Going Green and Digital for a More Sustainable, Inclusive, and Prosperous Future for All”, to emphasize the importance of the interconnected processes of green transition and digital transformation—or the twin transition—to build back better and stronger after the COVID-19 pandemic and achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Throughout the month, various events organized by PIDS and its partners will feature evidence-based discussions on the twin transition and how to manage and implement it effectively in the Philippines.

The DPRM will kick off on September 5, 2023, with a press conference from 9:30 am to 12 noon at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel North EDSA.

Speakers include PIDS President Aniceto Orbeta Jr. and Vice President Marife M. Ballesteros. Leading the presentation on the DPRM theme is Senior Research Fellow Francis Mark Quimba. Meanwhile, insights and commentary will be provided by Mr. Earl Martin S. Valencia, business sector representative of the National Innovation Council (NIC) and co-founder of Plentina. Also invited as panelists are the Department of Information and Communications Technology and a local chief executive.

This webinar will also be streamed live on the PIDS and SERP-P Facebook pages.
