This virtual event will present the study titled “Giving Cash to the Poor: A Study of Pantawid Pamilya Cash Grants Generosity, Frequency, and Modality” authored by PIDS President Aniceto C. Orbeta Jr., Supervising Research Specialist Kris Ann M. Melad and former Research Analyst Nina Victoria V. Araos.

The study examined the payment system of the 4Ps in terms of the amount, frequency, and mode of payment delivery of the cash transfers. Specifically, it looked at other countries’ practices on conditional cash transfers, assessed the implementation of the payment system and identified challenges that came with it, reviewed the appropriateness of the cash grant amounts based on the objectives of the program and the intended value of the benefits, identified other options of payment delivery to improve the current system, and determined the impact of the program on subgroups of beneficiaries by type of payment modality and frequency of payment.
