The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Philippines will formally launch the book "Raising the Bar: Understanding and Solving Chronic Malnutrition in the Philippines" on October 16, 2025 (Thursday), from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Chardonnay by Astoria, Pasig City.
The book compiles years of collaborative research between PIDS and UNICEF, offering a comprehensive synthesis of evidence, insights, and policy recommendations to address child malnutrition, one of the country’s most pressing and persistent development challenges. By presenting a cohesive narrative on the issue, the volume seeks to guide policymakers, program managers, and implementers in shaping effective and sustainable nutrition strategies.
This launch provides a platform to disseminate the book’s key findings, foster discourse on health and nutrition, and engage stakeholders who play a vital role in policymaking and program implementation at both national and local levels.
Onsite participation is by invitation only; however, the public may view the livestream through the official Facebook pages of PIDS, SERP-P, and UNICEF Philippines.
