How do childhood experiences shape the lives of Filipino adolescents, and why does understanding these long-term connections matter for policymaking and development planning?

To help answer these questions, the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Philippines, with support from the Australian Government, will bring together stakeholders to examine the evolving realities of Filipino youth through evidence from longitudinal research.

Titled “Ugnayan: The Journey of Filipino Adolescents Across Past, Present, and Future”, this dissemination forum on longitudinal studies of Filipino adolescents will be conducted on June 17, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM at F1 Hotel Manila, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

The forum will feature insights from the Longitudinal Cohort Study on the Filipino Child, one of the most comprehensive longitudinal studies on child development in the country. Drawing on successive waves of data, discussions will explore adolescent well-being across key domains, including health, education, gender, violence, and socioeconomic vulnerability, while highlighting how early-life conditions shape current outcomes and future trajectories.

This event aims to strengthen evidence-informed dialogue on adolescent development and contribute to more responsive, inclusive, and forward-looking policies and programs for Filipino youth.

On-site attendance is by invitation only. However, those interested in joining the discussion may watch the live stream via the official Facebook pages of PIDS, SERP-P, UNFPA Philippines, and the USC-Office of Population Studies Foundation, Inc.
