A PIDS study that investigated the barriers to the access and use of weather and climate information in agricultural decisionmaking found the absence of localized information needed by vegetable farmers in Benguet, a province with a unique microclimate. Farmers reported the lack of available forecast on frost and had to rely on personal knowledge and experience in predicting its occurrence and location. Radio and TV are still their usual sources of weather and climate information, but the available information is not targeted for farmers or their location, too technical and difficult to understand, or not available in their dialect.
