According to the Philippine Institute of Development Studies, there is a job mismatch as 40 percent of Filipinos are found to be overqualified in their jobs.

THE number of unemployed Filipinos eased to 2.6 million in July this year, data from Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) revealed Thursday.

According to the latest Labor Force Survey, this is a decrease of 5.2 percent compared to the 6.0 percent in June and 7.2 percent in July 2021.

PSA also said that there were 47.39 million Filipinos who were employed in July 2022, up from 46.59 million in June and 41.67 million in July 2021.

This translates to an employment rate of 94.8 percent, up from July 2021's 92.8 percent and the previous month's 94.0 percent.
