Hello, PIDS friends! Here's our #PIDSFactFriday for the week on the adequacy of school infrastructure in the country.

A PIDS study that assessed the adequacy of school infrastructure in the Philippines found the following gaps: spatial inequality in classroom-student ratio; insufficient water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities; lack of access to electricity and the need to upgrade existing electricity connections; and poor access to information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure. The study thus emphasized the need for more investments in school infrastructure to adjust classroom standards, scale up WASH facilities, improve electricity access and supply, and provide adequate ICT infrastructure.
